TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's soccer team battled through a lengthy contest that included a one-hour and 45-minute weather delay before ultimately falling 3–1 to the No. 1 team in the Red River Athletic Conference, LSU Shreveport, on Saturday afternoon at Judy Kelley Morgan Field.
The Pilots, unbeaten in RRAC play, struck twice in the first half to take early control. Following the extended delay, the Eagles returned to the pitch determined to rally. Sophomore Lillian Miller found the back of the net in the 57th minute, trimming the deficit to 3–1 shortly after LSUS had added its third goal.
TAMUT continued to apply pressure, outshooting the Pilots 6–5 in the second half and creating several quality chances. Goalkeeper Layla Anaya collected five saves, while Desiree Narvaez led the Eagles' offense with three shots on goal.
The Eagles move to 9-4-2 (4-3-1 RRAC) and will look to bounce back on the road as they travel to Hobbs, New Mexico, to face the University of the Southwest on Thursday, October 23, with kickoff set for 2:00 p.m. CDT.
