TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's soccer team turned in a dominant first-half performance Thursday evening at Judy Kelley Morgan Field, earning a 3–0 shutout victory over Louisiana Christian University in Red River Athletic Conference play.
The Eagles struck early and often in the opening period, finding the back of the net three times in a 12-minute span. Desiree Narvaez opened the scoring in the 23rd minute off an assist from Lillian Miller. Just two minutes later, Brooklyn Lattier doubled the lead with a goal set up by Alexia Lara. Lattier continued her standout performance, netting her second goal of the match in the 34th minute with help from Ziah Zackry to make it 3–0.
From there, TAMUT's defense and goalkeeper Layla Anaya took control, holding the Wildcats to just five total shots and preserving the clean sheet. Anaya tallied two saves in the victory, while the Eagles outshot Louisiana Christian 20–5 and held a 2–1 advantage in corner kicks.
Lattier led all players with five shots, including four on goal, while Narvaez and Miller paced a balanced offensive effort that produced 13 shots on frame for the Eagles.
With the win, A&M–Texarkana improves to 9–3–2 overall and 4–2–1 in RRAC play.
The Eagles will return to action on Saturday, October 18, when they host conference leader LSU Shreveport at 5:30 p.m. at Judy Kelley Morgan Field.
