TEXARKANA, Texas – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's soccer team hosted the North American University Stallions on Thursday night for a Red River Athletic Conference matchup. The Eagles dominated from start to finish, cruising to a 5-0 victory after 90 minutes of play.
Desiree Narvaez opened the scoring early for the Eagles off an assist from Brooklyn Lattier. Moments later, the duo switched roles as Lattier found the back of the net to extend the lead to 2-0 with 40 minutes remaining in the first half. Ayleen Avila added to the total in the 14th minute off another feed from Narvaez, and Lillian Miller capped the first-half scoring with a goal assisted by Catherine Joyce. A&M-Texarkana carried a commanding 4-0 lead into the break.
Both teams battled through a scoreless stretch in the second half until the 81st minute, when Ziah Zackry netted the Eagles' final goal of the night on an assist from Jailah Benson to seal the 5-0 win.
The Eagles outshot the Stallions 44-6 and held an 11-0 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Layla Anaya earned the win with two saves in the first half, while she and Makenzie Dellinger combined for the shutout.
