Women's Track & Field Lands 8 on RRAC All-Conference Team
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Following a third-place team finish at the Red River Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships, the Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's track & field team saw eight student-athletes earn All-Conference honors, the league announced.
All-Conference selections are awarded to student-athletes who finish in the top four of their respective events at the conference meet.
Leading the way for the Eagles was Kayla Reeves, who delivered a dominant distance performance by sweeping both the 3000m and 5000m titles. Reeves posted winning times of 11:06.22 in the 3000m and 19:28.44 in the 5000m to earn two All-Conference honors.
Vinae Edwards also secured multiple All-Conference selections after claiming conference titles in both the triple jump and long jump. Edwards recorded a mark of 11.31m in the triple jump and 5.52m in the long jump to lead the field in both events.
On the track, J'Layah Spellman Collins earned All-Conference recognition in two events, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 400m with a time of 58.47. She also added a third-place finish in the 200m (25.23) to round out her All-Conference performances.
Ja'Kouria Jamerson captured gold in the 400m hurdles, crossing the line in a personal-best 1:03.66 to earn All-Conference honors.
The Eagles added several more All-Conference honorees across both track and field events. Damaria Bell placed third in the 100m hurdles with a personal-best time of 14.26, while R'Naziah Johnson secured a third-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 28.12m.
In the field events, Teegan Roach earned All-Conference recognition with a fourth-place finish in the hammer throw (34.11m), and Janiya Ross added a fourth-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.55m.
