Three Women's Tennis Players Named to All RRAC Teams
TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's tennis placed multiple student-athletes on the Red River Athletic Conference postseason honors list, highlighted by First Team All-Conference recognition for Ana Gonzalez, Second Team honors for Lucia Siddens, and a Champions of Character selection for Andrea Castillo.
Gonzalez delivered a dominant sophomore campaign, excelling in both singles and doubles play. The Tampico, Mexico native compiled an impressive 21-5 record in singles while matching that success with a 21-4 mark in doubles alongside partner Lucia Siddens. Her consistent, high-level performance earned national recognition with a No. 33 ranking in ITA Singles and No. 14 in ITA Doubles. A key leader for the Eagles, Gonzalez helped propel the program to a No. 23 NAIA team ranking and No. 22 ITA ranking, solidifying her status as one of the top players in the conference and the nation.
Siddens made an immediate impact in her freshman season, earning All-Conference honors after a standout year across the lineup. The West Palm Beach, Florida native posted a 20-6 record in singles play and added a 20-5 mark in doubles competition. Partnering with Gonzalez, the duo rose to No. 14 in the ITA Doubles rankings, establishing themselves among the nation's best. Siddens' consistency and poise were instrumental in the Eagles' success this season, contributing to the team's top-25 rankings in both NAIA and ITA polls.
Castillo was named to the RRAC Champions of Character Team, an honor that recognizes student-athletes who exemplify the five core values of integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. A valued member of the Eagles program, Castillo has consistently represented Texas A&M–Texarkana with class both on and off the court, embodying the ideals of the Champions of Character initiative
