TEXARKANA, Texas — The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's tennis team fought to the finish in its home finale on April 9, coming up just short in a tightly contested 4-3 loss to (RV) Texas Wesleyan.
The Rams claimed the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions, despite a strong 6-2 victory from Andrea Castillo and Zahra Dreyer-Ferreira on court three.
TAMUT responded with a strong showing in singles play, earning three hard-fought victories. Ana Gonzalez led the charge with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, while Lucia Siddens battled through a three-set match to secure a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 victory at the No. 2 spot. Emmanouela Besi added another point for the Eagles with a gritty 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
