Women’s Tennis Falls to No. 16 Our Lady of the Lake in Arlington

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Texas A&M–Texarkana women's tennis team faced No. 16 Our Lady of the Lake on Monday afternoon at the Arlington Tennis Center, falling 5-2 in the neutral-site matchup.

The Eagles opened the match with a strong performance at the top doubles position as Ana Gonzalez and Zahra Dreyer-Ferreira secured a 6-3 victory over Anja Pisar and Maéva Chambon on court one. Our Lady of the Lake claimed the other two doubles matches, however, taking the point with wins on courts two and three.

In singles play, the Saints won four completed matches to clinch the team victory. Carolina Guerrero defeated Gonzalez 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, while Pisar picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win over Dreyer-Ferreira on court two. Ely Laure Ah-sou earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Lucia Siddens at No. 3 singles, and Marie Peters topped Kristin Major 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.

The final two singles courts were shortened and the Eagles claimed both victories as OLLU retired in both matches.
