Women's Soccer Corrals the Mustangs of USW

The Eagles took on the Mustangs of University of the Southwest earlier this afternoon in a RRAC matchup. Women's Soccer would emerge victorious over the Mustangs with a score of 3-1. 

The first half of play both teams would have opportunities to score but neither would be able to do so, going into the half the score was 0-0. The second half started off much like that of the first until Kenya Reynolds would launch one from outside the box off a block from Kristina Simpson and earn the first goal of the game for either team in the 72^nd minute. In the 79^th minute Kenya Reynolds would strike again off an assist from Delani Chappell making the score 2-0. The Mustangs would quickly find an answer as the time was running low with a goal of their own by Rylee Thatcher assisted by Maya Sanchez. The score now being 2-1 the Eagles wanted to put the game away and secure the second win of the day for TAMUT athletics during Homecoming, and Desiree Narvaez would do just that with a final goal for the Eagles in the 87^th minute. 

The Eagles move to 11-2-1 overall and 7-2-1 in conference play, and are currently in fourth place in conference standings. Women's Soccer will be back in action next Saturday at LSU-Shreveport, kickoff is set for 1:00pm.
