The Eagles traveled to Victoria, Texas to take on the Jaguars of University of Houston-Victoria in a Red River Athletic Conference match up this weekend. Women's Soccer would defeat the Jaguars 4-1 to earn another conference win to add to their record.
Alicia Loera would score the first goal for the Eagles in the 15th minute of the game putting the Eagles ahead of the Jaguars 1-0. Just minutes later Desiree Narvaez would add to that with a goal of her own making the score 2-0. At the conclusion of the first, the Eagles would have kept the Jaguars scoreless and lead 2-0. The start of the second half had a electric start for the Eagles as Sascha Marcellin would score a third goal for the Eagles off an assist from Sofia Reyes. In the 61st minute, the Eagles would commit a foul within the box allowing the Jaguars the opportunity to score on a penalty shot, and Kyleigh Spree-Kolos would do just that and put the Jaguars on the board, making the score 3-1. However, Desiree Narvaez would put the Eagles up by 3 again off an assist from Alexia Lara in the 77th minute. The Eagles would go on to win the game 4-1.
Women's Soccer remains undefeated on the season as they move to 8-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. The Jaguars fall to 5-2 on the season and 2-2 in conference. The Eagles will be back in action against the Stallions of North American University at home on Judy Kelley Morgan Field on Thursday, October 3rd, kickoff is set for 5:00 pm.
