A&M-Texarkana recorded its 14th win of the season Thursday with a 2-0 shutout of Jarvis Christian University at Morgan Field.
The Eagles (14-2-1 overall, 9-2-1 RRAC) got two goals from Johanna Rodriguez – her sixth and seventh of the season – while limiting the visiting Bulldogs (3-10-2, 3-8-1) to just three shots with just one of those on target.
TAMUT put pressure on Jarvis from the start, putting up their first shot just three minutes in, and continued to create opportunities throughout the half. Rodriguez got the Eagles on the board when she converted a penalty kick at the 35:02 mark of the first half. Rodriguez found the net again midway into the second half.
Ivana Robinson and Celeste Guzman combined to play a half each in goal, with Guzman making a save on Jarvis' lone shot on goal. TAMUT outshot Jarvis by a 17-3 margin.
The regular season comes to an end Saturday when the Eagles host winless Texas College (0-12-0) at Morgan Field for Senior Day. Texas College has been outscored 118-0 this season. The game is scheduled for a 1 pm kickoff.
