Early pressure leads to scoring burst during win at Paul Quinn

DALLAS, Texas — A&M-Texarkana put relentless pressure on Paul Quinn College for the entirety of Thursday's conference match, and it paid huge dividends as the Eagles left Dallas with a 5-0 shutout win to keep them among the top teams in the Red River Athletic Conference table.

The Eagles (12-2-0 overall, 7-2-0 RRAC) put 28 shots up with 20 of those on target, never letting the hapless Panthers (1-12-0, 0-9-0) get any firm footing on their home turf. Paul Quinn managed just three shots for the match.

It wouldn't happen quickly, however, as the Eagles took an overwhelming 15 shots in the first half, but led just 1-0 at intermission on Alyssa Daily's 11^th goal of the season, a crafty shot past the Panther keeper in the 11^th minute.

Fortunately, their attack created better and better opportunities in the second half, when the Eagles would pile on four more tallies in a span of 24 minutes. Freshman Brooklyn Lattier was the first to strike in the second half, scoring her third goal of the season, then notching her 10^th assist on the Eagles third goal.

Sofia Reyes scored her first of the game to make it 3-0, and added the final goal with just over three minutes to play. In between the two, Delani Chappell added an unassisted goal, her second of the season. Sascha Marcellin assisted on Lattier's goal, while Emily Navarrete got the assist on Reyes' second strike.

Ivana Robinson (10-2-0) recorded her 10^th win of the season in goal and her sixth shutout win. Robinson faced just three shots, making two saves.

The Eagles have one final road contest – Saturday at Southwest (NM) – before returning home for their final three regular season contests. A&M-Texarkana will also host the RRAC Soccer Championships.

Saturday's match in Hobbs, NM is scheduled for 2 pm CT.
