The Eagles (3-0-0) will take on Bethel University (4-0-0) during a Saturday evening non-conference match set for 5 pm at Wildcat Stadium in McKenzie, Tenn. The match can be seen live on the Bethel Broadcast Network, found at https://www.bethelathletics.com/watch.
HOW THEY GOT HERE
A&M-Texarkana had its Sunday match at Wiley College called off just hours before kickoff when Wiley forfeited due to a lack of players. In three scheduled matches, the Eagles have only finished one, a 9-0 win at Williams Baptist (Ark.) back on Aug. 29.
Meanwhile, Bethel enters the contest well-tested, having topped its first four opponents and outscoring its opposition by a 10-2 margin. After three consecutive shutouts to begin the season, Bethel surrendered a pair of goals Monday in a 3-2 win at LSU-Alexandria. Bethel outshot the Generals by a 30-6 margin, but the Wildcats allowed two of the three shots on goal to find the net. Bethel scored goals in the 73rd minute to take the lead for good and another in the 82nd minute to go ahead by two. LSU-A managed a goal in the 87th minute to make it a one-score contest.
SCOUTING REPORT
Bethel's 10 goals have come from six different players, with both Ainhoa Chirivella and Kalina Stanisic leading the team with a pair of goals. Audrey LaRue leads Bethel with three assists. Junior goalkeeper Alicia Perez (4-0-0) has three shutouts on the year, surrendering just two goals while making 14 saves.
In the Eagles' only official contest, nine different players scored a goal, including Brooklyn Lattier, who also recorded two assists. The Eagles had 43 shots in the win over Williams Baptist without allowing a shot against.
