Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth at CAC Championships in Inaugural Season
HOBBS, N.M. — The Texas A&M University–Texarkana women's golf team competed at the Continental Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by University of the Southwest in Hobbs. The two-day event featured 36 holes, with one round played each day.
The Eagles finished fourth overall with a team total of 702 (+238).
Leading the way for TAMUT was Liberty Thomson, who placed fifth individually with a two-round score of 167 (+23). Thomson carded rounds of 82 (+10) and 85 (+13), totaling four birdies across the tournament.
Ella Dieter followed with an eighth-place finish at 172 (+28). After opening with an 89 (+17), Dieter improved in the second round with an 83 (+11), recording two birdies.
Jalee Sampley finished 15th overall with a 181 (+37), posting rounds of 92 (+20) and 89 (+17) while adding one birdie.
Lainee McMillon tied for 16th with a 182 (+38), shooting rounds of 90 (+18) and 92 (+20) and recording one birdie.
Anna Anglen rounded out the Eagles lineup, tying for 22nd with a 190 (+46). Anglen posted rounds of 93 (+21) and 97 (+25), totaling two birdies.
The CAC Championships conclude the Eagles' season.
