Bio

Mary Chris “MC” Vogt is entering her first season with Texas A&M University–Texarkana (TAMUT) as the Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Eagles.

Prior to coming to TAMUT, Vogt spent 10 seasons (2015–2025) with the University of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns in Lafayette.

During her time at Louisiana, she helped the program:

  • Compile a winning overall record (168–132) and a strong mark in Sun Belt Conference (SBC) play (100–73)

  • Capture the SBC Regular Season Championship (2021)

  • Earn a berth in the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) in 2021

  • Claim the SBC West Division Championship (2021)

  • Win back-to-back Women’s Basketball Invitational (WBI) Championships in 2016 and 2017

  • Produce 2 SBC Defensive Players of the Year, 1 Newcomer of the Year, 1 Freshman of the Year, 16 All-SBC selections, and six 1,000-point scorers

In her roles as Assistant Coach and Chief of Staff/Director of Operations, Vogt worked on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, developing guards and hybrid players. Off the court, she served as the weight room and conditioning liaison, athletic training liaison, academic liaison, equipment manager and student-manager liaison, facilities and game management liaison, budget liaison, and team travel coordinator.

A native of Carrollton, Texas, Vogt came to Louisiana from Texas A&M University–College Station, where she worked for Hall of Fame coach Gary Blair from 2010–2015. While at Texas A&M, Vogt served as a camp coach, specializing in coaching point guards, combo guards, and shooting guards. Her other duties included camp director, assistant video coordinator, and recruiting support.

She was a member of the Aggies staff that won the National Championship with a 76–70 victory over Notre Dame in Indianapolis.

During her time in Aggieland, Vogt also helped guide the Aggies to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight, a Sweet 16, and the 2013 SEC Tournament Championship title.

Vogt played AAU basketball for eight years as a point guard and went on to star at Carrollton Newman Smith High School, earning First Team All-District honors during her senior season. Her academic achievements were also recognized, as she was named to the All-State Academic Team for Women’s Basketball three times during her high school career.

Vogt graduated from Texas A&M University in 2015 with Bachelor’s Degrees in Kinesiology and Sport Management, along with minors in Coaching and International/Cultural Management.
