Williams Earns RRAC Women's Hoops Offensive Player of the Week
WACO, Texas – Kayla Williams of Texas A&M University-Texarkana claimed the RRAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week award for Dec. 9-15, while Erynn Williams of LSU Shreveport (La.) was selected as the RRAC Defensive Player of the Week for the same dates. This is the seventh set of weekly awards for the 2024-25 women's basketball season.
Kayla Williams averaged 18.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Eagles. The senior forward from San Diego notched 26 points and nine boards in a 75-69 victory over Louisiana Christian University on Saturday. Williams made 14-of-30 shots from the field for the week. She is seventh in the conference with 7.0 rebounds per game this season. TAMUT is now 2-7 in the RRAC and 2-11 overall.
Erynn Williams played a pivotal defensive role in the Pilots' victories over North American University (Texas) and Huston-Tillotson University (Texas). The senior guard from Saginaw, Mich., amassed 12 steals including seven against NAU. Williams also collected four rebounds. She is third in the RRAC with 3.0 steals per game. LSUS improved to 8-1 in conference play and 9-3 on the season.
