TEXARKANA, Texas — Texas A&M University–Texarkana Softball closed out the 2026 regular season in dominant fashion, sweeping a three-game Red River Athletic Conference series over the University of the Southwest at Bramlett Field. The Eagles outscored the Mustangs 21-4 across the final two games after opening the series with a 1-0 pitcher's duel victory, finishing the weekend 3-0.
Prior to Thursday's finale, the program honored its nine seniors in a special Senior Day ceremony, recognizing their contributions to the Eagle softball program.
In game one of the series, the Eagles relied on a stellar performance in the circle from Rylee Glenn. Glenn tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just three hits while striking out five to earn her 13th win of the season. The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning when Victoria Clayton delivered the difference-maker, driving in Kamryn Walker with an RBI double to secure the 1-0 victory. Mackenzie Williams led the Eagles at the plate with a 2-for-2 performance.
The Eagles' offense came alive in game two, exploding for nine runs on eight hits in a 9-1 run-rule victory. TAMUT plated four runs in the second inning, highlighted by a two-RBI single from Jaquelyn Schmidt and a sacrifice fly from Brooke Usrey. Schmidt finished the game 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Usrey added three RBIs. Madison Ruiz and Victoria Clayton also drove in runs as the Eagles continued to apply pressure offensively. Alexis Snyder earned the win in the circle, allowing just one run on six hits over five innings.
In the regular season finale, the Eagles delivered their most complete performance of the series, rolling to an 11-3 win behind a 12-hit attack. TAMUT jumped out early with two runs in the first inning before adding four more in the second. Grace Cantu led the charge with four RBIs, including a bases-clearing triple in the opening frame. Kasen Morkisch recorded a perfect 3-for-3 day with two runs scored, while Clayton, Ruiz, and Usrey each contributed multi-hit performances. The Eagles sealed the win with a five-run fourth inning to secure the run-rule victory.
As a team, TAMUT showcased its depth throughout the series, combining dominant pitching with timely hitting. The Eagles' pitching staff held Southwest to just four total runs across three games, while the offense produced 25 hits over the final two contests.
With the sweep, Texas A&M–Texarkana closes the regular season at 33-12 overall and 20-5 in conference play. The Eagles will now turn their attention to postseason play as they head to Alexandria, Louisiana for the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament.
