NEW ORLEANS, La. – Texas A&M University–Texarkana Softball closed out its final road series of the regular season in dominant fashion, sweeping Xavier University of Louisiana in a three-game Red River Athletic Conference set over the weekend.
The Eagles' offense was firing on all cylinders throughout the series, outscoring the Gold Nuggets 32–7 across the three contests.
A&M-Texarkana opened the series with a 7–0 shutout victory on Friday. The Eagles tallied 10 hits in the win, led by Mackenzie Williams and Victoria Clayton with three hits apiece, while Grace Cantu drove in three runs.
In the circle, Rylee Glenn delivered a dominant performance, tossing six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, while Charli Miller closed out the shutout in relief.
The Eagles carried that momentum into game two, erupting for an 11–3 run-rule victory. A&M-Texarkana racked up 14 hits, highlighted by a three-hit, three-RBI performance from Kasen Morkisch. Grace Cantu added two hits and two RBIs, while Brooke Usrey and Mackenzie Williams each drove in a pair.
A six-run fifth inning broke the game open, as the Eagles strung together timely hitting to pull away and secure the series win.
In the series finale, the Eagles completed the sweep with a 14–4 victory, showcasing one of their most explosive offensive outings of the season with 16 hits. Kylie Malone led the charge with four hits and two RBIs, while Grace Cantu and Presley Humphrey combined for seven RBIs.
After a close game early, A&M-Texarkana broke things open with a four-run fifth inning before adding two runs in the sixth and a seven-run seventh to put the game out of reach.
With the sweep, the Eagles continue to build momentum heading into the final stretch of conference play.
A&M-Texarkana will return home next week to host the Mustangs of USW for their final conference home series. First pitch for Wednesday's doubleheader is set for 2 p.m., with the series concluding on Thursday.
