Softball Remains No. 21 in Fifth NAIA Poll Release
TEXARKANA, Texas — The Texas A&M University–Texarkana softball team remains ranked No. 21 in the fifth release of the NAIA Softball Coaches' Poll.
The Eagles move to 29–12 overall and 16–5 in conference play, continuing to hold their place among the nation's top programs as the postseason approaches. TAMUT recently faced a tough test against No. 7 Our Lady of the Lake, earning a thrilling walk-off victory in extra innings in game one before dropping the final two contests of the series.
With momentum still on their side, the Eagles now turn their attention to a road trip to New Orleans, Louisiana, where they will take on Xavier University of Louisiana as they continue conference play.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The top five teams in the fifth NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Poll all split votes again for the fourth consecutive installment. Oregon Tech received the most first-place votes with 11 and sits on the highest branch, watching over the rest of the country. Oklahoma City now holds the No. 2 spot all to itself as Madonna (Mich.) slides to No. 3 this week. Southeastern (Fla.) has been putting the Fire to opponents as they climb two spots to No. 4. The Fire also leads the nation in team ERA at 0.69. Eastern Oregon and Southern Oregon both slide one spot this week to No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Saint Xavier (Ill.) jumped into the top 25 this week at No. 23, as Benedictine (Kan.) now sits outside the top 25 looking in.
