TEXARKANA, Texas — Texas A&M University–Texarkana Softball split a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday against NCAA Division II opponent, Ouachita Baptist University, earning a 3–1 victory in the opener before falling 1–0 in a tightly contested nightcap.
Both games were defined by strong pitching performances and clean defense, as the Eagles committed just one combined error on the day.

The Eagles used a timely fourth inning and a dominant performance in the circle to secure the 3–1 win.
Scoreless through three innings, TAMUT broke through in the bottom of the fourth. Ruiz reached on a fielder's choice that brought home two runs, and Yaross followed with an RBI double to extend the lead to 3–0.
