Xavier (LA)
HARAHAN, La. – The Texas A&M University-Texarkana softball team made a statement in their final Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) road series, sweeping the Xavier University of Louisiana Gold Nuggets in dominant fashion. The Eagles shut out XULA 11-0 in game one and followed up with a 7-4 victory in game two.
Game 1: TAMUT 11, XULA 0
The Eagles came out swinging, plating two runs in the top of the first inning thanks to a Gold Nuggets error and an RBI single down the right field line by Grace Cantu. TAMUT blew the game open in the second, racking up five runs on six hits. Kasen Morkisch and Brook Usrey each drove in a run with doubles, Skyler Martin added an RBI single, and Cantu capped off the inning with a two-run homer to give the Eagles a commanding 7-0 lead.
TAMUT added two more runs in both the third and fourth innings, sealing the game with the mercy rule after five innings and a final score of 11-0.
Rylee Glenn earned the win in the circle, tossing three scoreless innings and allowing just three hits while striking out four.
The Eagles collected an impressive 15 hits in game one. Madison Dingman led the charge with a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the top of the lineup, while Cantu and Morkisch each drove in three runs.
Game 2: TAMUT 7, XULA 4
XULA struck first in the second game, scoring in the bottom of the first on a fielder's choice. But the Eagles answered quickly, tying the game at 1-1 with an RBI triple to center by Dingman. TAMUT pulled ahead in the third inning, plating four runs off hits from Raylene Zazueta and Briana DeLeon, and a productive groundout by Macey Cutsinger.
Alexis Snyder picked up the win for TAMUT, pitching three innings and allowing four hits and three unearned runs, along with one strikeout and two walks.
The Eagles tallied 12 hits in game two. Kaitlyn Cabral and Dingman each recorded two hits, while Zazueta drove in two runs. Dingman also showcased her speed with a pair of stolen bases.

The Eagles will wrap up their regular season at home after their doubleheader against Texas College—originally postponed due to weather—was rescheduled for Thursday, April 24. The games will take place at Bramlett Field in Spring Lake Park, Texarkana, Texas, with first pitch set for 1 p.m., followed by game two.
