Dorsett, Brannan run 800 meters at Arkansas Qualifier

FAYETVILLE, Arkansas — Against a field consisting primarily of top NCAA Division I athletes from around the country, A&M-Texarkana runners Charles Dorsett III and Zalenka Brannan joined the competition Friday at the Arkansas Qualifier, held in the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville.

Both athletes competed in the 800 meters, with Dorsett finishing 14^th and Brannan coming in 24^th. Dorsett clocked a time of 1:50.5, fishing just three seconds behind the winner. Brannan came in a time of 2:26.51.

Dorsett will compete tomorrow with Shea Johnson at the Texas Wesleyan Winter Qualifier in Fort Worth. Dorsett has qualified for the NAIA National Championships in both the 600 and 800 meters.
