Men’s Track & Field Places Eight on All-Conference Team
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Texas A&M University–Texarkana men's track & field team placed eight student-athletes on the All-Conference team, the league announced.
All-Conference honors are awarded to competitors who finish in the top four of their respective events at the conference meet.
Leading the Eagles was Chapman White, who turned in an outstanding weekend in the distance events. White claimed the conference title in the 5000m (16:51.31), while also earning All-Conference recognition with a runner-up finish in the 3000m (9:24.99, season best) and a third-place finish in the 1500m (4:13.94, personal best).
The Eagles saw multiple event champions, including Darlington Onsarigo, who captured the triple jump title with a mark of 14.53m, and Giovani Jean-Pierre, who sprinted to gold in the 100m with a time of 10.67.
On the track, Jayden Erikewe delivered a pair of All-Conference performances, finishing second in both the 110m hurdles (14.73) and 400m hurdles (54.17). Desroy Jordan also earned All-Conference honors with a runner-up finish in the 400m, clocking a time of 47.29 to meet the NAIA "B" standard.
In the field events, Maurice Williams secured two All-Conference finishes, placing second in the discus (39.58m) and third in the shot put (12.62m). Kolton Lybrand added a third-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 37.55m, while Dexter Lockett rounded out the honorees with a fourth-place finish in the long jump (6.85m).
