Four Track and Field Athletes Qualify for NAIA Indoor Nationals

TEXARKANA, Texas — The Texas A&M University–Texarkana indoor track & field program will be represented on the national stage as four Eagles have officially qualified for the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

On the women's side, Vinae Edwards (triple jump) and Ariyah Ford (shot put) secured national qualifying marks. For the men, Darlington Onsarigo (triple jump) and Desroy Jordan (400m) will represent TAMUT. The quartet earned their berths by meeting the NAIA national qualifying standards throughout the indoor season, showcasing consistency, determination, and competitive excellence. Their accomplishments not only secured individual spots at nationals but also highlight the continued growth of the Eagles track & field program.

Vinae Edwards qualified in the women's triple jump after surpassing the NAIA B Standard at both the Pittsburg State Invitational and the Washburn Alumni Invite. She holds a collegiate-best mark of 11.79 meters and currently ranks ninth nationally in the event.

Ariyah Ford punched her ticket to nationals in the women's shot put. Competing in five meets this season, Ford eclipsed the NAIA B Standard at the Crimson and Cream Qualifier with a first-place throw of 13.52 meters — a collegiate best. She currently sits 17th in the national rankings.

On the men's side, Darlington Onsarigo qualified in the triple jump after exceeding the NAIA B Standard at the Howie Ryan Invitational, where he placed third with a collegiate-best leap of 14.65 meters. He currently ranks 14th nationally.

Rounding out the qualifiers, Desroy Jordan earned his spot in the men's 400 meters with a collegiate-best time of 47.96 at the FasTrak Collegiate Indoor Classic, a performance that secured a first-place finish. Jordan currently ranks 15th in the nation.

Throughout the indoor season, TAMUT athletes have continued to set personal bests, reach program milestones, and establish themselves as contenders within the conference and beyond. Their qualification reflects the dedication shown during the offseason and the steady progress of the program.

The Eagles will now shift their focus to Gainesville, Florida, where they will compete against the nation's top athletes at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships. The three-day meet is scheduled for March 5–7 and will feature elite competition across sprints, distance events, jumps, throws, and relays.
