Men's Tennis Received Votes in First NAIA National Poll of the Season
TEXARKANA, Texas — The Texas A&M University–Texarkana men's tennis program received votes in the latest National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Poll, marking the first national recognition under first-year head coach Brian Nelson. Nelson has infused the Eagles with young talent and renewed energy since taking over the program.
The Eagles put together a strong fall campaign before adding new faces to the roster to kickstart the spring season. TAMUT currently sits at 1–1 on the year, earning a win over the Buccaneers of Christian Brothers University before falling to NCAA Division II opponent Ouachita Baptist University.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Keiser men's tennis holds the No. 1 spot in the first regular-season poll of the season, behind 10 first-place votes and 299 points in total. Georgia Gwinnett follows behind in second with 290 points, while Tennessee Wesleyan comes in third with 279. The top 12 teams remained unchanged from the preseason poll back in November.
No. 13 Oakland City (Ind.), No. 16 Missouri Baptist, and No. 23 St. Thomas (Fla.) each jumped two spots in the standings since the preseason poll.
The next poll will be released on February 25.

Poll Methodology
- The national poll is for publicity purposes only and does not influence the selection process for national championship consideration.
- A panel of head coaches representing each conference and the Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) votes in the poll.
- The Top 25 teams are selected using a points-based system:
- 30 points for a 1st-place vote, 29 for 2nd, 28 for 3rd, and so on.
- The highest and lowest rankings received by each team are discarded before final tallying.
- Teams receiving only one point are not listed as "receiving votes."
- For the Preseason Poll, there is no "previous ranking" column since it is the initial poll and differs from the prior rating system.
