The Eagles took on the Tigers of Paul Quinn this afternoon in a RRAC matchup. Men's Soccer would emerge victorious at the conclusion of the match with a score 4-0.
Within the first 5 minutes forward Diego Picano would set the pace of the match with a quick goal off a pass from Ali Akram. Picano would score again in the 14th minute of a PK after a penalty in the box was committed by the Tigers. Seconds before halftime, the Eagles would put one more mark on the board off a cross from Real Eguaikhide that led to an own goal from the Tigers. At the half, the Eagles had the lead with a score of 3-0.
The Eagles would not score their fourth and final goal until just seconds before the final whistle, Aaron Bocanegra would be the scorer for the Eagles with an assist from Javier Armendariz. The Tigers would be held scoreless and be limited by TAMUT's defense to only 4 shots on goal, and Eagles' Goalie Seth Brown, did not concede a single goal.
With his two goals in today's match up, Diego Picano is now tied for second in the conference for most goals on the season and goalie Seth Brown is in third place for most saves on the season tallying 60 for the Eagles.
The Eagles move to 5-7-2 overall and 3-5-1 in conference play. Men's Soccer will be back in action at home, this Saturday October 19th versus the Mustangs from Southwest during Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 3:30pm.
