Men’s Soccer Picks up First Conference Win

Men's Soccer takes down the Saints from Our Lady of the Lake University 2-1 on a hot Saturday afternoon on Judy Kelley Morgan Soccer Field.  Diego Picano would score the first goal not even two minutes into play for the Eagles off assists from Golden Eguaikhide and Ali Akram. Later in the first Picano again would find the back of the net and give the Eagles a lead of 2-0 just minutes before the halftime whistle. However, the Eagles would be faced with a challenge after Coastas Heckman would be suspended from the match with a red card in the first half, forcing the Eagles to play a man down for the remaining of the game. 

The Saints would capitalize on this advantage and snag a goal in shortly before the break. Andres Rocha off an assist from Nicolas Murgas would put the Saints on the board going into the half. The Eagles would be able to hold off the Saints and keep the lead through the final whistle, despite being one player short. 

The Eagles would pick up their first conference win of the season and advance to 3-3-1 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. Men's Soccer is back in action Thursday September 26^th at Huston-Tillotson University, kick off is set for 7:30 pm.
