A&M-Texarkana will head into the RRAC Championships for the first time in three years and do so on the strength of a 4-2 Senior Day win over Texas College on Saturday. The Eagles (9-8-1 overall, 7-5-1 RRAC) finished the regular season with a winning record for the first time in program history thanks to Saturday's win at Morgan Field.
The Eagles opened a two-goal lead early in the contest after a converted penalty kick from Oluwafisayo Oduwole, followed by a Christian Gomez goal assisted by Jaret Rojas in the first 12 minutes of the match.
In the second half, however, Texas College was able to draw level with a pair of goals in a span of just four minutes. But, Rojas made the game-winner a few minutes later on a penalty kick, then Diego Picano put the lead back at two with a goal in the 79th minute, assisted by Real Eguaikhide.
The Eagles will open the RRAC Championships next week against No. 1 seed and regular season champion LSU-Shreveport at a date and time to be determined. LSUS won the regular season meeting, 1-0 in Shreveport.
