A&M-Texarkana gave up a pair of goals in each half Thursday and failed to get on the scoreboard, resulting in a 4-0 conference loss to Louisiana Christian at Morgan Field. The Eagles fell to 5-7-0 overall and 3-4-0 in conference play while LCU remained in first place and improved to 7-2-1 and 6-0-0.
Louisiana Christian scored just 74 seconds into the contest and added a second at the half-four mark for a comfortable 2-0 lead. Each side put up nine shot attempts in the first half, but it was LCU who had the best opportunities with seven of their shots on target as opposed to just a pair for the Eagles.
The Wildcats scored again in the 73rd and 84th minute of the contest and finished with 15 total shots, 13 of those on target. A&M-Texarkana managed 14 shots but had just six of those on goal. Jacob Mendez made nine saves in goal for the Eagles.
A&M-Texarkana is home again Saturday to host LSU-Alexandria at 7:30 pm.
