Bio

A native of Texarkana, Huntze graduated from Texas A&M–Texarkana in 2017 and has spent his career developing young golfers and building successful programs across the region.

Huntze began his career at Texarkana Country Club (2015–2017) and Northridge Country Club (2017–2019), gaining valuable experience in player development and operations at two of the area’s top facilities. He then took over as Head Boys and Girls Golf Coach at Texas High School, a role he held from 2019 to 2025. During his tenure, the Texas High boys’ team captured five district championships and made three state tournament appearances, highlighted by 4th-place finishes at the state tournament in both 2021 and 2023. In 2023, Huntze also coached an individual player to a state championship title. Under his leadership, the Texas High girls’ program won two district championships and consistently competed at a high level.

Beyond high school coaching, Huntze has remained active in the broader golf community. He has worked at the University of Texas Golf Camp for the past two years, mentoring junior golfers at one of the nation’s premier summer golf programs. He also served as a caddie in two of the most prestigious amateur events in the country — the 2022 U.S. Junior Amateur and the 2024 U.S. Amateur Championship — gaining firsthand experience at the highest levels of amateur golf competition.

Off the course, Huntze enjoys spending time with his wife, Ashton, and their daughter, Isla. Deeply rooted in the Texarkana community, Huntze is committed to growing the golf programs at Texas A&M–Texarkana and building a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and success.
