SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Texas A&M University–Texarkana Men's Basketball dropped a road contest to Our Lady of the Lake University, 84–71, Thursday night.
The Eagles came out firing offensively, shooting 54.5% in the first half and putting up 47 points in the opening 20 minutes. Despite the strong start, OLLU carried a narrow 49–47 lead into halftime.
Deovaunta Williams paced TAMUT with a game-high 26 points, knocking down three three-pointers while adding four steals and three rebounds in 36 minutes of action. Jakari Livingston followed with 20 points and four rebounds, providing consistent scoring throughout the contest.
Daryl Houston was a force inside, finishing with a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds, including seven offensive boards.
The Eagles shot 43.8% from the field for the game and out rebounded OLLU 42–37, but the Saints caught fire from beyond the arc, connecting on 11 three-pointers and shooting 75% from the free-throw line to create separation in the second half.
Men's Basketball will close out the regular season on Saturday, February 21, traveling to face Texas A&M–San Antonio. Tip off is set for 3 p.m. following the conclusion the women's game prior.
