Eagles Set to Soar as 2025–26 Men’s Basketball Season Approaches
TEXARKANA, Texas – The 2025–26 season is right around the corner, and excitement is building as the Texas A&M University–Texarkana men's basketball team prepares to return to action. Under the steady leadership of head coach Darion Brown and first-year assistant coach Matt Worwood, the Eagles are ready to build on last season's progress and continue their pursuit of success.
The Eagles will open the season in front of their home crowd on Tuesday, November 4th, hosting Philander Smith at 6:30 p.m. inside the Patterson Student Center. This early non-conference matchup will set the tone for what promises to be an exciting year.
Head coach Darion Brown shared his excitement for the upcoming season:
"This upcoming season, our focus is to compete at the highest level, work towards hanging banners, and not just on the basketball court, but also in the classroom, and being a familiar face in our community. We're committed to embracing competition in all aspects of life.
Our program has been working hard to continue creating a strong winning culture, and my staff and I are fully invested in developing not only great athletes but great men.. "The Standard" remains something we hold ourselves accountable to every single day. We strive to win the day-relentlessly pushing forward in everything we do.
As for the league, we know this conference runs deep. So each and every night, will be a chance to prove ourselves and what we're about. Since the season ended early, we've put in the work, and I believe our group is prepared to compete with anyone. Tons of returning experience, and a bunch of young men who are hungry and came in help us reach our ultimate goal!
As the season draws closer, we'll work tirelessly to give you guys the best form of Eagles basketball. For now, our focus is clear—we're ready to embrace the challenge and are excited about what's ahead."
The Eagles' full 2025–26 schedule features 13 home contests and 15 road matchups. Conference play begins November 20th, providing plenty of opportunities for TAMUT to make their mark ahead of the postseason.
