Coach Brown is in his second year at Texas A&M University-Texarkana and his first season without the interim tag. Prior to becoming the head coach at TAMUT, Brown served as an assistant at Jacksonville University during the 2023–2024 season and as an assistant coach at Nicholls State University from 2021 to 2023.

Brown joined the Colonels after spending one year as the Director of Recruiting at South Alabama (2020–2021), where he managed the prospect database and led on-court skill workouts for the Jaguars. Previously, he worked as a graduate assistant coach at Salem University for the 2018–2019 season, assisting the staff with opponent scouting reports, on-court development drills, and pre-game planning.

A native of Alexandria, La., Brown earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Our Lady of the Lake University in May 2018, before securing his Master of Business Administration in Management from Salem University in May 2020. While studying at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, Brown had an impressive playing career as a four-year starter for the Saints, finishing with 1,116 total points, 551 assists, 270 rebounds, and 189 steals, helping lead the team to three NAIA National Tournament appearances and earning two All-RRAC Second Team selections.
