NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana — The A&M-Texarkana men's basketball team fell just short of pulling off a big upset in Saturday's 69-66 loss at Xavier (La.). The Eagles finished a stretch of five consecutive road games, losing all five.
Jeff Norment led the Eagles (7-19 overall, 5-15 RRAC) with 20 points, eight rebounds and three assists, while Levelle Zeigler added 12 points and four rebounds. TAMUT finished the game 16-of-46 from the field (34.8 percent) and were outrebounded by a 43-26 margin.
Jathen Ross sparked Xavier with 23 points and six rebounds, and three other Gold Rush players scored in double figures.
The Eagles wrap up the regular season next week with home games against Paul Quinn on Thursday and Southwest (NM) on Saturday.
