A&M-Texarkana shot a season-low 29.5 percent from the floor on Thursday, resulting in a 66-51 loss to Texas College at the Patterson Center.
The Eagles (4-9, 2-5 RRAC) made just 18-of-61 shots from the floor, including 5-of-24 from long range (20.8 percent), struggling to churn out 25 points in the first half and 26 in the second.
Jeff Norment was the only Eagle to reach double figures, scoring a team-high 17 points to go with 10 rebounds and three assists. Lavelle Zeigler entered the game scoring more than 16 points per game but made just 2-of-14 shots and was limited to only six points and five rebounds. Christopher Coley had eight points and eight rebounds.
The Steers (10-5, 6-3 RRAC) shot 42.9 percent from the floor (24-of-56) and got a game-high 18 points from Nagee Jones, 16 from Kaleb Parks and 12 from Domonique Perry.
The Eagles are home again Saturday afternoon when they host Jarvis Christian at 4 pm.
