Bio

Jordan Collins joins Texas A&M University–Texarkana as the inaugural defensive line coach, bringing a strong track record of developing high-level defensive talent and building disruptive, high-performing units at the collegiate level.

Collins arrives in Texarkana following a stint at the University of Mary Hardin–Baylor, where he served as defensive ends coach. Prior to that, he spent five seasons at East Texas Baptist University, where he made a significant impact on one of the top defenses in NCAA Division III.

At ETBU, Collins began as defensive line coach before being elevated to defensive coordinator for the 2023 season. Under his leadership, the Tigers’ defense earned nine all-conference honors, including the American Southwest Conference Defensive Lineman of the Year. His defensive units were consistently among the most productive in the nation, recording 81 tackles for loss, 30 sacks, 12 interceptions, nine forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, and six blocked kicks during the 2023 season.

Collins played a key role in developing multiple standout defensive linemen during his tenure at ETBU, helping guide a unit that ranked among the national leaders in key defensive categories and produced numerous All-ASC selections. In 2022, ETBU led NCAA Division III in tackles for loss and finished among the top teams in sacks while ranking first in the ASC in sacks.

Prior to his time at ETBU, Collins spent one season at Albright College, where he served as both defensive line coach and assistant strength and conditioning coach. He also gained valuable NFL experience as a Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellow with the Indianapolis Colts, where he worked closely with the defensive staff during preseason camps.

A former collegiate player, Collins competed at both Cisco Junior College and the University of the Incarnate Word. While at UIW, he helped lead the Cardinals to a Southland Conference championship and a berth in the FCS Playoffs.

Collins earned his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy with a concentration in Pre-Law from the University of the Incarnate Word in 2018 and his master’s degree in Strategic Communications from East Texas Baptist University in 2021.

He is the son of Byron and Verlinda Collins and has two siblings, Jared Williams and Janee’ Collins.
