Baseball Delivers Complete Performance in 45–0 Victory
TEXARKANA, Texas — Texas A&M University–Texarkana baseball delivered a historic performance Tuesday afternoon at George Dobson Field, defeating Arkansas Baptist 45–0 in game one of a scheduled doubleheader. The Buffaloes forfeited game two.
The Eagles' 45 runs set a new program record for runs in a single game, surpassing the previous mark of 43 set during the 2021–22 season against Texas College. The total also matched the NAIA single-game record, tying the 1988 Grand Canyon squad that scored 45 runs against Denver (Colo.).
A&M-Texarkana's offense was relentless from the start, plating eight runs in the first inning and never slowing down. The Eagles broke another program record in the fourth inning, erupting for 20 runs—the most ever scored in a single inning.
As a team, the Eagles totaled 27 hits and 40 RBIs while drawing 19 walks in the contest.
Leading the way offensively, Evan Havreluk drove in seven runs, while Brandon Sheets added eight RBIs, including a pair of home runs. Michael Caputo turned in a perfect day at the plate, going 4-for-4 with five runs scored and three RBIs. Graydon Martin also contributed four RBIs, and multiple Eagles recorded multi-hit performances in the win.
On the mound, Jeb Drewery earned the win, tossing four scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and striking out three. The bullpen combined to preserve the shutout, limiting Arkansas Baptist to six hits on the day.
With the game two forfeit, the Eagles completed the doubleheader sweep in dominant fashion, adding another win to their season tally.
Baseball will host Xavier University of Louisiana this weekend for a three game series across Friday and Saturday. The two teams will compete in a doubleheader starting Friday evening at 4:30 p.m. Senior Night celebrations will occur between the two games Friday evening.
