TEXARKANA, Texas — The Texas A&M University–Texarkana baseball team secured a conference series sweep over Texas College on Tuesday and Wednesday at George Dobson Field, winning all three matchups in high-scoring fashion.
The Eagles opened the series with a dominant 14-5 victory, using a patient approach at the plate to draw 13 walks and capitalize on timely hitting. TAMUT tallied 10 hits, led by Ahmar Donatto (2-for-4, 2 RBI, 3 runs) and Tobin Jones (2-for-2, RBI, 2 runs), while Austin O'Malley added a pair of RBIs. After trailing early, the Eagles responded with runs in five straight innings, including a five-run sixth to pull away. On the mound, Braeden McNamee earned the win in relief, tossing 4.1 innings with just one run allowed.
In game two, the Eagles' offense stayed hot in an 18-10 win. Despite recording just nine hits, TAMUT drew 15 walks and turned them into 15 RBIs. Landon West led the way with three RBIs, while Brandon Sheets added three of his own. Austin Kerns scored four runs, reaching base five times, and Tobin Jones crossed the plate three times. The Eagles broke the game open with a four-run fifth inning and added insurance with four more in both the sixth and eighth innings. Jordan Kelly picked up the win in relief, helping stabilize the game after an early back-and-forth battle.
The series finale proved to be the most competitive contest, with the Eagles rallying late for a 9-7 victory. Trailing 7-2 entering the sixth inning, TAMUT mounted a comeback behind key hits from Austin Kerns and Landon West before exploding for four runs in the seventh. Kerns delivered a go-ahead home run, while Graydon Martin drove in two runs in the inning. Donatto (3-for-5) and Kerns (2-for-4, 2 RBI) paced the offense, while Tiernon Wolf earned the win with 3.1 shutout innings out of the bullpen to close the door.
Across the three-game set, the Eagles showcased offensive depth and discipline, scoring 41 runs while consistently applying pressure with runners on base.
